At $78.88 a barrel, Brent crude futures for February ended the day down $1.98, or 2.45%. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) oil futures for the United States fell $1.89, or 2.49%, to $74.07 per barrel. The five-time Champions League champion, whose father, Cesare, and son, Daniel, were players for the team, claimed in an interview with La Repubblica that owner Gerry Cardinale's explanations for sacking him were "a little weak." "Cardinale informed me and (former sporting director of Milan, Ricky Massara) that we were let go," Maldini remarked. When I questioned him about it, he said that I didn't get along well with (CEO Giorgio) Furlani. "Did I ever call you to complain about him?" I asked. I didn't do it. Written by Mohammed Salem, Maayan Lubell, and Nidal Al-Mughrabi GMT+7 November 29, 20239:46 PM23 minutes ago November 29, 2014 (Reuters) - An unfounded claim by Hamas that a 10-month-old Israeli captive and his family had died cast a shadow over last-minute talks between Israel and Hamas to prolong the Gaza truce on Wednesday. The armed branch of Hamas announced just before the truce's last release of women and children that the youngest hostage, infant Kfir Bibas, together with his mother and four-year-old brother Ariel, had perished in an earlier Israeli bombardment. Their father has been detained as well. The family was among the most well-known civilian hostages to be released, so Israel said it was investigating the potentially explosive accusation. The Hamas statement could not be independently verified by Reuters. After the parents and kids were left out of the penultimate grou

In response to the almost 1,100 arrival of Rohingya refugees this month—a minority group from Myanmar that faces persecution—Indonesian police and fishermen announced on Saturday that they have started patrolling sections of the westernmost province of the nation to stop them from reaching its shores. Every year, thousands of people from the predominantly Muslim minority risk their lives by attempting to enter Malaysia or Indonesia by sea, frequently in rickety boats, from refugee camps in Bangladesh. More than six boats, some of which locals attempted to turn back to sea, brought hundreds of Rohingya people from Bangladesh to Aceh province this month as sailing conditions improved. 36 Rohingya arrived in East Aceh, a regency of over 350,000 people, on Sunday, according to police, who now enforce round-the-clock
