Katy Perry will receive a great honour at the 2024 MTV VMAs.

On September 20, Katy Perry's seventh studio album, "143," is scheduled for release.

This year's MTV VMAs will celebrate Katy Perry with the Video Vanguard Award.

In honour of their exceptional contributions to music and popular culture, performers are given the Vanguard Award.

Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Beyoncé, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Nicki Minaj, and LL Cool J are just a few of the celebrities that have previously received it.

The Lifetimes singer will accept the award and perform a medley of her hit songs during the ceremony, the network revealed on Thursday.

Bruce Gillmer, a Paramount executive, described Katy as a "global phenomenon" and stated in an official statement that she "is a musical powerhouse and true pop culture icon."

"With her game changing creative vision, she has become a global phenomenon and taken over the world's biggest stages," he said.

He ended the piece by stating, "Katy's prowess will be on full display live on the VMAs with a can't-miss, career-encompassing performance celebrating her biggest moments and chart-topping hits."

The Video Vanguard Award will take place at the UBS Arena in New York on September 11. The hitmaker of Firework has not yet responded to the news.

Nine days before her seventh studio album, 143, is scheduled for release on September 20, the singer receives her accomplishment award.
