Katy Perry responds to harsh criticism by defending the "Woman's World" video

In response to criticism of her new single Woman's World, Katy Perry finally spoke out.

Recently, Katy Perry spoke out against the criticism directed at her new track, "Woman's World," calling it "satire."

Her fans and followers became enraged when the video was criticised for being directed towards men.

In response to the fans' outcry, the American Idol judge said in a recent social media post that the purpose was only to parody the topic of "gender norms."

She sent the following message with a video clip on X, the former name for Twitter: "You can achieve anything! even in jest! Girlboss a**hole! You're capable; go, girl!"

She said, acting quite strangely, "We're just kind of having fun, being a bit snarky with it. It's quite ironic and slapstick."

She went on to clarify: "And with this set, it's like, 'Oooh, we're not about the male gaze but we really are about the male gaze,' and we're really overplaying it and on the nose because I'm about to get smashed which is like a reset for me, and a reset for my idea of feminine divine, and it's a whole different world we go to after this."

The California Girls singer provided an explanation of the cover art earlier this week on her official social media pages for those who were unfamiliar with it.
