Indonesia Expands Trade Opportunities in the Region of Los Ríos and Los Lagos

Chile's Valdivia "Indonesia hopes to investigate ways to improve the trade agreement between Chile and Indonesia, particularly to promote more participation from regional business actors," stated Muhammad Anshor, the ambassador of Indonesia to Chile, while on a working visit to Valdivia, Los Rios Region, on July 11–12.

"This is in line with the significant increase in trade volume and value between Indonesia and Chile following the implementation of the Indonesia-Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IC-CEPA) in 2019," said Ambassador Anshor.

The purpose of the visit to Valdivia was also to extend an invitation to the regional stakeholders to attend the Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in Indonesia from October 9–12, as well as to take part in the Indonesia–Latin America and Caribbean Business Forum (INA–LAC) in Lima, Peru, on September 11–13.

Ambassador Anshor met with the director of Prochile Los Rios, the president of Sociedad Agricola y Ganadero Osorno (SAGO), the dean of the Austral University of Chile's faculty of veterinary medicine, and the Valdivia Chamber of Commerce and Industry during his visit. Ambassador Anshor acknowledged the potential of the Los Rios economy's resources and prospective industries, such as tourism, services, agriculture, and cattle. He stressed desire in boosting trade and economic relations while outlining potential areas of cooperation.
