RIYADH: The Reserve Development Authority has arranged the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Festival, which will be held at the Cultural Centre in the Al-Qurayyat governorate from April 14–18.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the festival intends to promote local community involvement in reserve activities and highlight tourist and recreational sites within the reserve.

There will be a range of festival activities that include artistic, cultural, recreational, and awareness-raising pursuits.

A performing arts theatre, an artisan's market honouring Saudi history and traditional crafts, a wildlife area, a children's area with activities and drawing areas, an afforestation and planting area to promote afforestation culture and vegetation development, and more are among them.

The theatre will host folk arts, theatrical productions, poetry evenings, heritage, and history-focused cultural acts and segments.

With an area of more than 130,000 square kilometres, the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve is the biggest wildlife reserve in the Middle East.

By preserving biodiversity and returning endangered animals into their native habitats, it aims to uphold and promote wildlife.

The reserve, which spans four regions—Al-Jouf, Hail, Tabuk, and the Northern Borders—also include archaeological sites that have been registered with UNESCO.
