"Madame Web" Trailer: Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson Get Spider-Man Powers in Marvel Movie

Excuse me, Spider-Man. Some new web-slingers have arrived in town.

The first trailer for the suspense thriller "Madame Web," starring Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson and based in the Marvel character universe of the studio, has been released by Sony.

Johnson assumes the starring role of Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may possess clairvoyant talents, giving her the ability to look into the future and the networked world of spiders. In order to comprehend her past and escape the deadly present, she forges relationships with three young women in the trailer, including Julia Carpenter from Sweeney, who subsequently assumes the role of Spider-Woman in the comic books.
Isabela Merced, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, Celeste O'Connor, Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, and Zosia Mamet are also in the cast.
The enormous popularity of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" from Sony Pictures Animation shows that people are still hungry for anything that has the ability to wall crawl and swing on a web. The most recent addition to Sony's Marvel character world is "Madame Web," which comes after the publication of "Venom" by Tom Hardy (2018), "Venom: Let There Be Carnage" (2021), and "Morbius" by Jared Leto (2022).

Sony's next releases include "Kraven the Hunter," starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, on August 30, 2024, and a third "Venom" film, scheduled for November 8, 2024. The first comic book adaptation from Sony that has a female lead is "Madame Web."

Madame Web is directed by SJ Clarkson, who previously directed Marvel's "Jessica Jones" and "The Defenders," based on a story she co-wrote with Claire Parker. The film opens in theatres on February 14, 2024.
