After we defeated Burnley 3-1 in the Premier League to secure a commanding league lead before the international break, Mikel Arteta addressed the media.

The manager was questioned over Oleksandr Zinchenko's performance, Leandro Trossard's historic goal, and Ben White and Martin Odegaard's fitness.

Read Mikel's entire message below.

Regarding the outcome and Vieira's red card:

I'm really pleased with the outcome, especially considering how we played the last three games—against Newcastle, against Sevilla, and today—and how dominant we were in a number of situations against teams that are very difficult to dominate. I also believe that we deserved to win the game. Regarding the red card, I agree with the VAR and the referee; it was a wise decision, and Mikel was very encouraging in his discussion of it. Thank you for asking.

Regarding the significance of keeping our momentum:

This is how this team plays; we play to the best of our abilities, giving it everything we have to win games and earn them. When the opposition plays better, we simply congratulate them. I believe we have played better in the last three games and we deserve to be in this strong of a position heading into the international break. It gives us some momentum, but we also need to get players back because at this point, we have eight unavailable players, which is a lot, and we have eleven games in December, so we need to get everyone back as soon as possible.

Regarding Zinchenko's execution:

I was overjoyed to have him. The fluidity and menace he provides, the way he moves the ball, and the spaces he occupies and makes available for other players, especially against these teams, are all crucial in my opinion. His defensive play today impressed me greatly, as did his level of commitment to every defensive play. The goal he scored is a great illustration of how he plays the game when the ball is far away from him; that's why he's the first to touch it and scores the goal, and that's what we need from him.

Regarding Trossard's goal and the fact that it was our 1,000th at Emirates Stadium:

I'm thrilled with him because he crossed the line when needed and scored the 1000th goal at Emirates Stadium, which is a wonderful accomplishment. I'm really happy with him because I think he plays well every time you want him to, whether it's wide or as a nine.

Regarding White's health:

Ben won't give you much; he always wants to be on the field and hides anything that is in there. However, we highlighted it, we noticed something in there in the last few weeks as well, and we wanted to protect him today. Ben wasn't comfortable and didn't look right yesterday during training. The decision made by the medical department and physiotherapists was appropriate, and we will evaluate him and determine the cause of his condition tomorrow.

Regarding Trossard's rapport with his colleagues:

That is the phrase. I believe that he makes everyone feel connected. He is incredibly smart. He moves in a way that draws people in and creates options and spaces for them. Today, he did a great job of it since it was challenging to attack the little areas, but he provided us plenty of opportunity to connect and create spaces for ourselves.

Regarding Jorginho's harm:

We opted to take him off the field because, presumably, he had a few nasty cuts that they couldn't treat on the field. I believe he performed admirably today as well. I'm incredibly delighted with this person because of the way he competes, coaches, and supports the squad in any way he can.

Regarding Jorginho's recall to the Italy squad:

Any player who can represent his nation makes me very happy, and I am aware of what Italy means to him. I think he deserves it all because he was so eager to participate.

Regarding the resolve Trossard displayed:

The team, I believe, has been much more courageous in that regard over the last two or three games. Today, we sustained attacks in the final third so many times that it became extremely difficult for the opposition. Go, be consistent, go, go, and try to force errors and mistakes and take orders to go again.

Regarding our physicality and our two set-piece goals:

Our guys are large. It's real to see Willy [Saliba]. He hasn't yet regularly displayed this ability. We are really working with him because of his potential to be much more dominant. Today's goal is a true testament to the effort [put in], so we are incredibly proud of him and the coaches for their hard work. Teams defend incredibly low against us and really prevent spaces, so we are the team that needs more set pieces. It's also a terrific way for us to score goals.

On Odegaard's suitability:

I'm not sure. I'm going to meet with the medical department right now to find out about everyone's circumstances. I believe he will return after the international break, but I'm not sure exactly what the decision is or the status of the communication just yet.

Regarding Tomiyasu's abilities and health:

In his eye only. He was the best of the rest, however he had a lens issue. A truly outstanding performance.

Regarding where we stood in the standings before the international break:

Although I would want to be at the top, we must accomplish this. We have demonstrated a great deal of consistency in our play, competitiveness, and results, so let's keep going. We now have some momentum and, as I mentioned earlier, certain players are returning. Again, let's go.

Regarding if he will be abroad during the global vacation:

Sunlight I'm not sure because I'll probably stay in London, so I doubt the sun, but I am certain that I will have a few days off and some truly lovely family and friend time.
