This week, Indonesia will send the first shipment of supplies to Palestine.

The pursuit of a ceasefire must not end here.

Antara Jakarta - The Indonesian government has announced that this week it will deliver its first shipment of humanitarian aid to Palestine, as announced by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Humanitarian aid from Indonesia will be sent; it will be tailored to the needs and demands of the Palestinian people. The first batch would be despatched this week," he declared on Monday after presiding over a small discussion about Palestine at Jakarta's Presidential Palace.

He continued, "The government, business leaders, and the Indonesian people have provided the assistance."

Jokowi expressed his anger to Indonesia in a statement posted on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube account, citing the escalating humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza as a result of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

"Indonesia is very angry about the worsening situation in Gaza, especially the humanitarian situation," he stated.

He confirmed that the Indonesian government is still keeping a careful eye on the events in Gaza

Jokowi reaffirmed Indonesia's unwavering position against indiscriminate assaults on Gaza's civilian population and public buildings.

He then demanded an immediate cessation of aggression against civilians.

"A ceasefire must continue to be pursued," he stated

Jokowi also demanded that humanitarian aid to Palestine be sent out more quickly

He said that Indonesia is also keeping in touch with other parties in an effort to find a solution to the issue.

Several ministers, including Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, attended the small meeting on Palestine on Monday.
